The student recruitment event, Tuudo’s Recruitment Fair, was held on September 16-19, 2024, with a part-time job theme. The event featured 35 employers from various fields, offering a wide range of opportunities for students.
The event attracted over 71,000 students who were interested in career opportunities and networking with employers. The digital environment enabled flexible participation, allowing students to connect with employers in a whole new way—like a job market dating app.
Eltel and Natural Resources Institute Finland LUKE have participated in the Recruitment Fair several times. The event’s ease and efficiency especially attract them to participate again and again.
“Participating in the event is really easy for the company, and the setup is already familiar to us from previous years. We were pleased that both our company profile and job posting received hundreds of likes and visits.”
Kiira Sipilä, Eltel
“The implementation works year after year, the schedules are well maintained, and the instructions are clear.”
Linda Yli-Keturi, LUKE
Swiping and Opportunities: Over 300,000 Swipes
During the four-day event, students swiped enthusiastically, with a total of an impressive 300,000 swipes – showing how excited they were to find their own “match” in the job market. In a feedback survey, many students mentioned that swiping through job opportunities was a fun and quick way to get an understanding of a job and the company.
According to Posti’s recruitment manager Jenni Ailio, Tuudo’s recruitment fair offers a particularly good opportunity to increase visibility among young people. Meanwhile, Kesko’s recruitment specialist Erika Suomela praises the visual design of Tuudo’s recruitment fair and the clear instructions provided.
“The fair was visually appealing, very successful, and Tuudo provided extremely clear instructions/guidance. From an employer’s perspective, participation was really easy!”

Webinar: Discussions on Working Life
In the recruitment fair’s work-life-themed webinar on Tuesday, September 17, participants enjoyed inspiring presentations. During the seven expert talks, the webinar had approximately 500 entries, with an average of 65 listeners per session. Students could ask employers questions through the chat, creating meaningful discussions and providing valuable insights into working life.
Participation in the webinar was designed to be as easy as possible for both students and the presenting employers. The organization of the webinar received praise once again from both employers and students. Among the speakers were representatives from LähiTapiola, Kesko Logistics, and Posti.
“It’s nice to inform students about employment opportunities and promote the employer image. It was easy for the employer to participate in the webinar, as everything was well-organized in advance.”
Siiri Lansmans, LähiTapiola
“The fair is overall versatile, and students/listeners have a great opportunity to participate in various presenters’ programs and ask questions.”
Erika Suomela, Kesko
“We were able to tell future talents about our company and influence their perception of it.”
Jenni Ailio, Posti
Speed Interviews: Students Actively Seeking Career Opportunities
During the event, speed interviews were also organized, offered by three employers this time. The speed interviews once again piqued students’ interest, with around 400 applications submitted. Speed interviews provide students with an opportunity to get answers to their questions and receive direct feedback from recruiters. Additionally, a speed interview is a chance to make an impression on a potential employer.
Digital Recruitment Events Appeal to Students
Feedback from students was predominantly positive, with most recommending the recruitment fair to their friends. They particularly appreciated the event’s ease and the opportunity to connect with new employers in a low-pressure environment. In the feedback survey, students expressed a desire for even more employers to participate in the recruitment fair to create a diverse range of job opportunities.
Tuudo’s Recruitment Fair 2024 was a great example of how digital recruitment events can provide new opportunities for both students and employers to meet and network. The popularity of the fair and the feedback received offer excellent insights for developing future recruitment events.
